Sean “Diddy” Combs got a beatdown from a fellow inmate, who is also a notorious Jamaican drug lord, resulting in the head injury that landed him in the hospital over the weekend, according to multiple media reports.

The disgraced music mogul was involved in a fight with Christopher Coke, a kingpin also known as “Dudus,” on Friday at Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institute, sources at the New Jersey federal prison told TMZ.

The violent tussle was apparently sparked in part by an NBC report regarding Diddy’s lifestyle in prison, and how’d been shelling out cash to live the high life behind bars. It specifically alleged that the Bad Boys Records founder had a rotating staff of fellow inmates, hired to do chores like cooking, cleaning, doing his laundry and even giving him Chinese-style massages. He also apparently got his hands on contraband, like liquor and a cellphone he used to scroll Instagram and look at illicit photos.

In response, Diddy was placed in solitary pending the outcome of an investigation into the matter. In addition, officials at the New Jersey prison have conducted two raids, culminating in the confiscation of banned items, including Dudus’ own cellphone, TMZ reported.

Dudus took issue with Diddy getting everyone in trouble, eventually resulting in a scuffle between the two. According to TMZ, Diddy took a bigger beating during the fight, and he was rushed to the hospital on Saturday with a head injury.

Diddy has been behind bars since July 2025, after he was found guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution following a federal sex trafficking trial in New York. He was sentenced to 50 months behind bars with an initial release date set for June 2028, though it has been moved several times in recent months.

The Grammy-winner currently stands to be freed on March 2, 2028.

Dudus, meanwhile, has been behind bars since 2012, and he is currently serving a 23-year sentence. He was once the leader of an international criminal organization known as the “Shower Posse” or the “Presidential Click,” and pleaded guilty to one count of racketeering conspiracy and one count of “conspiracy to commit assault with a dangerous weapon in aid of racketeering,” ABC News reported at the time.

Both men were ordered to spend two weeks in solitary as punishment for the fight. Diddy, who had already been in segregated housing, was on his daily break when the confrontation with Dudus unfolded, TMZ reported.
