Bijou Phillips, who was once married to ex-actor and convicted rapist Danny Masterson, has been hospitalized in desperate need of a kidney transplant.

Phillips, a model and actress, was admitted to UCLA Health, where she will remain under care and on dialysis until a donor can be found, her spokesperson told TMZ on Wednesday.

She previously underwent a transplant in 2017 — receiving a kidney from an unidentified friend — but she went on to experience a series of complications before it ultimately failed, her rep told the outlet. Those issues included the BK virus, a flu-like polyomavirus, which resulted in both cellular and antibody rejection.

In a social media post on Wednesday, Phillips appealed to her followers for help.

“I need help finding a kidney,” she wrote. “I am asking as a friend, sister, an aunt and most importantly a single mother to an incredibly brave daughter.”

Her spokesperson said Phillips was in stable condition as of Wednesday afternoon, but emphasized that “time is of the essence.”

Phillips has been open about her health struggles throughout her career. She was born with underdeveloped kidneys and spent the first days of her life in the NICU on dialysis.

In October 2011, Phillips tied the knot with Masterson, the Scientologist and former actor best known for his role on “That 70s Show.” Phillips filed for divorce after Masterson was sentenced in September 2023 to 30 years to life in prison for rape.

The former couple share daughter Fianna Francis, who’s now 11 years old.
