Dwayne Johnson paid an emotional tribute to the late Robin Williams, as the cast of the new Jumanji movie gathered at CinemaCon to reveal the film's full title.
Johnson told how the upcoming motion picture, which is called Jumanji: Open World, will feature an Easter egg to pay homage to Williams - who led the cast of the 1995 original Jumanji movie - in "every single scene".
Speaking at a Sony Pictures event at Las Vegas' Caesars Palace on Monday (04.13.26), he said: "This whole franchise would not have started or happened or kicked off in this really beautiful way without one man, and that's Robin Williams."
Discussing the nod to Williams in the upcoming movie, he said: "If you don't know already, it's one half of the original dice that was used in the original Jumanji
"Robin, as we like to say, this one's for you."
Johnson also insisted Jumanji: Open World will be the "biggest of the franchise so far".
The former WWE star reunited with Jumanji co-stars Kevin Hart, and Jack Black at the event.
In the film's trailer, the trio's video game characters, Dr. Xander "Smolder" Bravestone, Franklin "Mouse" Finbar, and Professor Sheldon "Shelly" Oberon, along with Karen Gillan's alter-ego, Ruby Roundhouse, have been transported into the real world.
Johnson previously told how he would be wearing a prop from the original Jumanji as a tribute to Williams.
Speaking in November, he said in an Instagram video: "Little day one of Jumanji excitement. That was cool.
"As you see, a little easter egg for Dr. Bravestone. This is the dice from the original Jumanji with Robin Williams, as a show of respect.
"And a way of honouring Robin and this entire franchise that he started as we film our very last Jumanji. Big finale. Here we go, let's shoot!"
Williams died by suicide in 2014, aged 63.
He starred opposite Kirsten Dunst, Jonathan Hyde, Bonnie Hunt, Bradley Pierce, and David Alan Grier in the original Jumanji movie.
Bebe Neuwirth also appeared as Nora Shepherd, and she will reprise her role for Jumanji: Open World.
Nick Jonas, Danny DeVito, Awkwafina, Alex Wolff, and Morgan Turner also star in the forthcoming film.
