Carly Rae Jepsen has found "the sweet spot" between success and getting to "live a life".

The 40-year-old pop star, who became a household name when she released Call Me Maybe in 2011, is glad to be reached a point where she has "an audience" for her music while still retaining a private life.

She told The Hollywood Reporter: "Where I've landed now in my career is the sweet spot.

"I can live a life, go to the grocery store, have a family, tour music that I love and have an audience.

"That's a very hard-earned, balanced thing that we've had to work at."

Carly Rae and her husband Cole M.G.N. - whose real name is Cole Marsden Greif-Neill - welcomed their first child into the world in early March, but they have kept their baby's sex and name out of the public eye.

Reflecting on her rise to fame 15 years ago, the singer insisted the intensity of her experiences means she can relate to celebrities "in that space consistently".

She explained: "It was so overnight that I feel like I understand what it must be like for some people who live in that space consistently, and my heart goes out to them."

Carly Rae pondered that some stars might feel like they can adjust to sudden success, but it wasn't for her.

She added: "I'm just not very good at it."

Instead, the I Really Like You star found herself trying to stay grounded, and focus on the music.

She said: "In the moment, it was happening rather fast. If I'm being honest, I felt a little voice from inside screaming at me to hold on to why I started."

Carly met six-time Grammy-winning music producer Cole during a songwriting session in 2021 before dating in 2022.

They got engaged in September 2024 at the Hotel Castello di Reschio in Umbria, and tied the knot in October 2025 in front of 100 guests inside the Bard Room, Chelsea Hotel in New York City.

She told Vogue magazine earlier this year: "We knew we wanted a location that meant something to us, and the Chelsea Hotel had become a home away from home every time we were in New York.

"As artists, its iconic history and lore made it that much more appealing. For planning, we had weekly dates to talk out all the details of the wedding. This way it was only ever fun and not too much at once."

Carly and Cole's wedding was officiated by her aunt and uncle.

She said: "Being present and at ease was key for both of us. We wanted it to feel romantic and full of emotion. Our family talked about how we met, and we wrote personal vows to each other that we read aloud."
