Chris Rock has an idea or two for Taylor Sheridan and his ever-expanding television empire.

“Hey, if Taylor Sheridan’s got a job for me, I will take that job,” Rock said recently told Variety. “I could be the Black guy on ‘Yellowstone,’ no problem.”

An acclaimed screenwriter, director, and actor, Sheridan created the massive modern Western media franchise that is “Yellowstone.” It centers primarily on the Dutton family, the owners of the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the United States, the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch in Montana. Since its debut in 2018, the show — which starred Kevin Costner as John Dutton — has spawned a series of spinoffs and prequel shows, including “Dutton Ranch,” “Marshals,” “1883,” “1923” and “1944.”

Rock went as far as to brainstorm some ideas for a future spinoff, starring himself.

“I could just be the Black guy that owns some land and has like, white slaves,” he said. “Taylor Sheridan, let’s do the white slavery show! I’m the guy!”

Should Rock nab such a gig, he would join a club of other A-list actors already working with Sheridan. In addition to Costner, veteran stars like Harrison Ford, Michelle Pfeiffer, Kurt Russell, Sylvester Stallone, Nicole Kidman, Demi Moore, and more have starred on his shows.

Sheridan has also created original shows including “Landman,” “Mayor of Kingstown,” “Lioness” and “Tulsa King,” with even more film and television projects on the horizon.

In 2029, though, he is slated to part ways with Paramount, his longtime home, for NBCUniversal.
