MINNEAPOLIS — “Saturday Night Live” is adding another Midwesterner.

Grace Reiter, who grew up in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, will join the cast when it returns for its 52nd season on Sept. 26.

The other newcomer will be Saidah Belo-Osagie, who hails from Queens. The only major departure: Gifted impressionist Chloe Fineman, who revealed in July that she was leaving after seven seasons.

Reiter, who graduated from Chippewa Falls High School in 2020, is the latest “SNL” star who cut her teeth doing TikTok and YouTube videos. She was a writer and performer in “Minimum Wage,” a Netflix mockumentary series about life at a pizzeria that was based on a web series. It premieres Oct. 26.

“SNL” has rarely invited Upper Midwesterners to join its club. St. Paul’s Tommy Brennan, who will return for his second season, is the first Minnesotan since Al Franken to be a cast member.

The two most famous “SNL” veterans with Wisconsin connections are short-timer and Illinois native Joan Cusack, who attended University of Wisconsin-Madison, and the late Chris Farley, who grew up in Madison and went to Marquette University.

Earlier this year, Variety selected Reiter for its inaugural “10 Creators to Watch” list.

“When I was starting, it was throw everything at the wall and see what sticks,” she told the trade publication. “Quantity over quality. Just make it and post it. If people saw it, great. If not, no one did.”

There’s zero chance her work won’t be seen now.
