Queen Elizabeth II’s ‘Life in Style’ shown at Buckingham Palace exhibit
Published in Fashion Daily News
The world is full of fashion exhibitions that I will not get to, and this one sounds particularly interesting: “Queen Elizabeth II: Her Life in Style,” currently at London’s Buckingham Palace, features more than 300 garments worn by the late monarch throughout her long life, including her christening robe, her 1947 wedding dress, an elegant blue ensemble for her sister Princess Margaret’s wedding in 1960, and numerous gowns worn to state occasions.
These gowns, gathered as if for a chat, seem to magically stand on their own, left behind by their wearer — a quiet reminder of the poignant passage of time. “Queen Elizabeth II: Her Life in Style” is on display through Oct. 18.
