TAMPA, Fla. — Bucs quarterback Baker Mayfield finally put a little air under the football Friday, softly tossing passes during the portion of practice open to the media after spending the week nursing a biceps injury to his throwing arm.

Wideout Chris Godwin and left tackle Tristan Wirfs also were on the field, both trending toward being available to play Sunday against the Eagles.

Mayfield was limited in practice for the third straight day, but the Bucs haven’t seemed concerned about his availability for the game.

“All questionable for Sunday,” head coach Todd Bowles said. ”Trending in the right direction. We’ll see what happens (Saturday) with Tristan and Chris. Baker should be OK for Sunday but was limited (Friday)."

Bowles said Mayfield threw the ball some in practice earlier this week but had more work Friday.

“He threw the ball earlier in the week. He didn’t throw a lot,” Bowles said. ”But he threw the ball more (Friday)."

Godwin has not played since suffering a dislocated ankle 11 months ago. He was a full participant at Wednesday’s practice, then took a scheduled day off before returning Friday.

His return is welcome, not only for his playmaking skills, but because the Bucs will be without Mike Evans for 3-4 weeks as he recovers from a hamstring strain.

“You know when (Godwin) is in there good things are going to happen,” offensive coordinator Josh Grizzard said. “He just gets everybody on the same page. Whether he is really communicating it or not, he is going to correct someone if they mess up. He is always great to have in there — we will see — hopefully he can. That is what we are hoping for, but yeah, it would be great to have him out there.”

Defensive lineman Logan Hall (groin) also practiced for the first time Friday and could play against the Eagles. “He’s in play for Sunday as well,” Bowles said.

The only players who are definitely out are Evans and safety Christian Izien (quad).
